Kellankoski Lodge

On the shore of Lake Liesvesi, stands Kellankoski Lodge, our main building.

The lodge is an old school building est. 1923 and now serves as a fishing- and outdoor lodge with the Ahoniemi restaurant in it. Lodge is situated perfectly by the world-famous Troutland fishing spots. Etelä-Konnevesi national park and other hiking tracks are also nearby.

You can pick the berries and mushrooms off the property, if you don’t wish to go further out to find those jewels of the forest. The nearest airport is Jyväskylä Airport, 56 km.

Flyfishing

Troutland area in Central Finland includes over 10 km of excellent private brown trout water and offers world class fly fishing in a safe environment with professional guides. This is one of the best wild brown trout fisheries in Europe at the moment.

Fishing guides will take the guests to all the best waters on the region at the time. The best time to catch these large trout is from June to the end of August.

The fishing experience is, for example, quite similar to trout fishing on the world-famous rivers of the Kola Peninsula, despite the rivers being smaller; on the other hand, the trout are larger in size.

The average width of the rapids is 25 to 40 meters and less than 1km in length -which makes them relatively easy to fish. Wading is possible in most part of the rivers and our fishing guides will help you to get started with wading. We also use the drift boats at some of the spots to make the fishing even more enjoyable.

Besides the brown trout, fishermen are also interested in grayling running in the river systems. Every summer, the largest grayling caught are well over 50 cm (20 inch) in-length. In addition to grayling and brown trout, perch, zander and large pike can be fished for in the area.

For pikefisherman Konnevesi is able to offer something exceptional and special.

Large pike in clear and flowing water bring a nice addition to the sport. The large pike that thrive in the meanders of streams are strong fighters. In addition to pike, nice perch and zander swim in the waters.

Best season for Pike Fishing is from April to July. September and October are also a peak season for a pike fishing in Finland – That’s when the pike are really fat and heavy after the summer buffet.
