Giellajohka – Your home in the Arctic

Giellajohka's location has housed accommodation for more than six decades. The place has been known in the past i.e. as Kiellatupa, which was a small oasis for hikers and travelers located here between the wilderness areas of Muotkatunturi and Paistunturi. Our beautiful riverside cabins and guesthouse Aksu warmly welcomes visitors from all over the world to enjoy the pristine nature of Lapland.

Our location next to river “Kielajoki” (or “Giellajohka as it is in Northern Sámi language) offers great possiblities for fishing. The surrounding wilderness area “Muotkatunturi” and “Paistunturi” are a dream location for hikers who look for peace. And of course, one of the most famous strict nature reserves of Finland, Kevo, is just around the corner.
