Partners

Different organizations have participated in the design and creation of the Fishing in Finland website. Read more about the partners below.

The Federation of Finnish Fisheries Associations

The Federation of Finnish Fisheries Associations is a national bilingual (Finnish/Swedish) fisheries organisation. Together with our member organisations and stakeholders we are working for healthy fishing grounds and sustainable fishing. Promoting Finnish fishing, fisheries and fish is also a central part of what we are doing. As the land of a thousand lakes and a long coastline fishing is a popular hobby in Finland and for people visiting Finland fishing can be a fun activity to try out!

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry secures domestic food production and sustainable use of renewable natural resources and creates the preconditions for economic activities and well-being derived from these. The Ministry’s administrative branch comprises agriculture and horticulture, rural development, forestry, veterinary service, control of foodstuffs of animal origin, fisheries, game and reindeer husbandry, use of water resources, land surveying and spatial information.

The Finnish Fishing Guide Guild

The Finnish Fishing Guide Guild (Suomen Kalastusopaskilta) is a national organization for fishing guides, whose main tasks are advocating for the interests of fishing guides and developing the conditions for fishing tourism. The guild fulfills this mission by influencing the development of fishing legislation, the planning of water usage and management, official decisions, and projects or plans related to guide services or fishing tourism.

Visit Finland

The main task of Visit Finland is to promote international travel to Finland in cooperation with the Finnish travel industry. We build the image of Finland as an attractive travel destination internationally and support companies nationally in developing and marketing travel services for international markets. Travellers want meaningful, profound experiences – and Finland is a wonderful place to find them. In this land of a thousand lakes, access to green space is available to all, and nature is never far away – even in major cities.

Eräluvat.fi (Metsähallitus)

Eräluvat.fi web service offers you fishing, hunting and off-road traffic permits for state-owned areas. You can also pay the national fisheries management fee. The waters and lands owned by the Finnish state are there for you to use. Metsähallitus ensures that people who would otherwise not have access to wilderness opportunities may also enjoy them. The game and fisheries staff manages hunting, fishing and off-road traffic in state-owned areas on a sustainable basis, and our game and fisheries wardens supervise all wilderness activities on state-owned lands. When you purchase a wilderness permit, you invest in Finnish nature; the proceeds are used to benefit the environment.
