Lake Vähä-Koukkujärvi is special angling spot for the kids.

The fishing season at Niemisjärvi begins in May right after the ice has receded. The typical target fish is rainbow trout, but there are also whitefish, perch and pike. It is possible to fish from the shore or from a boat. The use of lures and flies is allowed. Fishing with just a fishing pole and line is also a great form of fishing the entire family can enjoy. There is also the option of renting a boat from the kiosk on the shore. You may want to give rowboat trolling a try during the open water season. Many anglers consider it the best way to catch fish!
