Photo: Antti Koli  Beautiful red fins are characteristic for ruff. Rudd are fish for hook-and-line anglers, striking maggots or worms slipped onto small hooks. The angler's tactic is to locate a school of rudd and set the hook and line in front of their swimming course. When you hit upon a school, you may be in for a generous catch. Rudd also snatch spinners and flies, as well as ice-fishing lures in winter.
